SUSHI

I am Japanese.
When I tell this to people here, they often say "I love sushi!" and I found out that some of them think Japanese eat sushi everyday.
But I have to tell you that we don't! haha
We have sushi at different times throughout the year.

There are several different kind of sushi are made for different occations.
Nigirizushi, Temakizushi, Oshizushi, Makizushi, Inarizushi, Chirashizushi etc.

This time at the club, we made Makizushi(rolled sushi).

Now, you know how to make it at your home.
You don't have to go to sushi restaurant and pay for it!




Ingredients
rice
-sushi rice(the pic on the left is the one that we used this time)
-sushi powder(the pic on the right is the kind of powder I usually use) or *homemade sushi sauce

-imitation crab
-canned tuna
-shrimp
-*stir fried beef
-eggs
-cream cheese
-avocado
-cucumber
-lettuce
-radish sprout
-nori (sea weed papers)
-sesame

sauce

-mayo
-soy sauce(kikkoman brand)
-wasabi
etc

*homemade sushi sauce
for 5cup rice
-vinegar 90ml (if you have rice vinegar, it works the best)
-sugar 40g(2.5Tbsp)
-salt 12g
mix them together and pour it little by little into the hot rice.


*stir fried beef
-beef (cut into strips) 300g
-ginger 1clove
-sugar 1Table spoon
-rice sake 1Table spoon (you don't have to add this if you can't find sake)
-soy sauce 2Table spoon
1. stir the beef in a pan until half way done.
2.add the rest of the ingredients into the pan and stir until the liquid starts disappearing.

I was able to find most of the ingredients at Pacific Ocean in Broomfield.

You can put pretty much anything you like in the roll. It is like the Japanese version of sandwich.

We didn't have time to put the fancy decoration this time but now you know how to make the roll with avocado!
